High Heels Poker Tour Set to Storm FloridaThe High Heels Poker Tour is headed for its home state of Florida this weekend.  With a recent stop in New York under its belt, the tour will focus its attention on the September 6th tournament to be held at The Isle Racing and Casino at Pompano Park.

The tournament buy in is $250 and all players will begin play with 8,000 in starting chips.  Play is set to begin at 1:00 p.m.

Turn out in South Florida is expected to be high, as response has been very positive.  "I think its great. I can't wait until Saturday. I'll definitely come and watch these ladies play on Saturday," said Mary Anne Librasco, from Tamarac.

Women's poker is growing rapidly across the United States.  There has been an explosion in response, poker rooms are seeing more women enter tournaments as well as playing in cash games.

The High Heels Poker Tour launched in 2007 with a vision to give women not only tournament's but the tools and exposure they need to become the best poker players they can be.  The growth of the HHPT was very evident this past summer at the World Series of Poker.

50-60 of the women who played at this year's WSOP were from High Heels and totaled around $200K in prize money between them in various tournaments and 2 women boasting final table finishes.  The tour offers women's only tournaments in a competitive environment to women of all experience and skill levels.

I love these tournaments, they’re great fun but I never thought I’d win one. It’s my first tournament victory in a while and good for the old confidence.”
