World Series Of PokerThe 2008 WSOP has begun and, for the fourth consecutive year, is being held at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. The WSOP (World Series Of Poker) was originally started in 1970 by Benny Binion and is considered the largest poker event of the year. Consisting of over 50 events over a month long series of competitions for massive cash prizes and the highly respected WSOP bracelets. Several varieties of poker games are played with the final $10,000 main event attracting thousands of participants.

 

The WSOP 2008 schedule of events consists of 54 bracelet events, including eleven $10,000 World Championship tournaments. The excitement at the Rio in Las Vegas began on May 30 with the Pot-Limit Hold'em World Championship, and will end with the Main Event final table on July 16. When playing in the WSOP there are millions to be won. An average Joe can walk in broke and come out a millionaire. Last year’s main event winner Jerry Yang walked away with 8.25 million.

$330 Mega Satellites Monday - Thursday at 3 PM.
$550 Mega Satellites Friday - Sunday at 3 PM.
$1060 Mega Satellites Daily at 9 PM.
Mega Satellite Days July 2 - 5:
$330 Mega Satellites at 6 PM.
$550 Buy-In Mega Satellites at 10 AM and 4 PM.
$1060 Buy-In Mega Satellites at 1 PM and 9 PM.
Turbo Mega Satellite July 6:
$1060 Turbo Mega Satellite at 8AM
$50k H.O.R.S.E. Mega Satellite Days May 31, June 1, 16, 20, and 21:
$2250 Mega Satellites at 5 PM.
Nightly Tournaments from May 29 - July 15:
$340 Buy-In No-Limit Hold'em tournaments nightly at 7 PM. 

Many of the big online poker rooms will be offering 2008 WSOP satellites, and for players unable to pay the $10,000 buy-in fee it is a great way to experience the excitement. Currently, the 2008 WSOP Satellites offered are:      

·         Titan Poker offers $180,000 in Main Event freerolls.

·         Pacific Poker hosts monthly $15,000 WSOP freerolls.

·         Full Tilt Poker offers $180,000 in WSOP satellites.

·         PokerStars offers $100,000 in WSOP freerolls

Online poker room VC Poker's TV show "Crack my poker face" Has been showing some ridiculous people trying to make a professional poker player either laugh or cringe in order to win 1,000 Pounds Sterling.

The show has a player sitting behind a poker table and each contestant is given 60 seconds in order to crack their poker face.
