multiple sites for specific reasons 2008/07/14 15:36 Karma: 1
Hi Matt,
First off let me say, great site and I'm not at all surprised to see the quality of your laydown's in your previous threads.

I play full tilt for MTT's because they seem to have them in much faster succession than a lot of other sites. So if you are 'mid grind' you can pick and choose your tourneys without too much downtime (at which point I'll play a sit'n'go or two).
I still play but don't like the smaller buy in games for the mere reason too many others in the tourney do not respect the buy in amount. There seems to be an attitude of "oh well its only $3.30 if I do get busted, LETS GAMBLE!!"
When a player is paying $30 - $200+ they tend to play better as more is at stake, from my own experience anyway.

Another advantage I find with full tilt is their "last hand" button which allows you to view all cards mucked at showdown. ABSOLUTELY INVALUABLE information, I'm just not sure how many people have picked up on this little gem. Yep, you can see what someone called you with and mucked.

I play Pokerstars for their awesome "steps" satellites. You can play for $7.50 or 500 fpp's in step one, 1st & 2nd go to step 2, 3rd retries step one. This continues up the steps until step 6 where (in the APPT macau) 1st, 2nd and 3rd get seats, spending money and hotel accommodation to the live event you are playing to get into. It may be a $12k package to the WSOP or a $6k package to Macau. But it only cost you $7.50 and all 6 steps are only 9 person sit'n'go's

Anyone else have reasons for specific sites?

Hi Richie,

Welcome to our website, Good to hear you are still playing the game.

I play mostly at Pokerstars with the satelites and the 1 table 'sit n goes' grinding it out that way, I prefer cash games Live and have yet to find a niche online with cash.

It's good information to get the last hand of your opponent, it definitely gives you a chance to figure out their play.

I use Poker Office for gathering data, I wish I got this tool ages ago! Visit this link for a review and to get Poker Office and your first 300 hands free.

I play mostly on ongame 400 - 600NL games are one of the softest online and they have some really good promotions. I play also on Cake poker form time to time and pacific once every 3 months.
Sometimes I play MTT on Party Poker also.

I dont like FT because I think there are many good players there, especially on 400+NL

Stars I dont play much also because there is no rakeback, and they have weired shuffle on tournaments.

Just a few thoughts

I like PokerStars, have been playing there for a couple of years now and really enjoy the different level Sit n Go tourneys as well as the satellites into the big tourneys. I'm not much of a cash game player so the variety of tourneys and sit n gos for me is ideal.

If anyone can recommend other online poker sites that would be great as I'd like to try out a couple of different ones.

I would suggest you one site on ongame (doesn't matter which exactly choose the one with best promotion) and maybe cake poker, but ongame is really nuts
