Hey all!

I just wanted to post here to find out how do you stop yourself from going on tilt?

I have been getting bad beats and it only makes me play really!! bad again and again until I chill out and go back to normal

Hi Brodog,

There are a number of ways to stop yourself going on tilt.

- You could take a break from the game
- Listen to music at a live table so not to listen to someone.
- Block chat online
- Research the odds and measure your variance
- Focus on your game and not on how you think other should play.

These are just a few.

Do you know what makes you tilt besides bad beats?

yea I like to turn off the chat so i don't have to put up with people talking shit

and also blocking there image if they put like an eye ball just staring at you

I think that the chat box is just useless, so I turn it of.

If I did the right move, I try to think that I was right to do that, and the tilt goes away after some time. If I lost all my chips I take a break.

If I tried a wrong bluff and got called, the tilt is almost always impossible to ignore.

Hey Brodog,

I go for a break for at least 10 minutes away from the table whether I'm playing live poker or online.

Never be afraid to leave the table all together and try a new one especially if you're online - it's too easy to go on tilt and try to bad beat the guy who's put you on tilt in the first place - it works sometimes but other times he just lucks out and you end up on worst tilt! (That's my experience anyway).

Last time I got on major tilt was when I lost a big cash game for $500 buy in and smashed my mouse to pieces.

I had flopped Quad Kings and checked the flop, the turn was the ace and he bet, I raised he went all in I called and river ace gave him Quad Aces over my Quad kings.... Totaly Sick!

I swore my head off and didn't play for like a week!

I thing that sitting with head phones on in a live tournament is a terrible habbit. You loose out on so much info in the game. Its much easier to get a read on how people play, when you listen to them talk and pay attention to the game. I also just hate players removing their head phones saying "what? how much was the bet?" Grrrr

I always go on tilt but I don't yell at anybody or anything I just go all quiet.

I do start raising with weird hands too and will call the person who put me on tilt to try and bad beat him back hahaha

i just take a few deep breaths....breath in....breathe out...breath in..... THEN i let rip into the Guy #@$%^&%^!
